General

Q: What is Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs)?

A: Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) are one-dimensional tubular carbon materials formed by seamlessly rolling up a single layer of graphene into a tube with only one wall — with a diameter of just 1–2 nm (about 100,000 times thinner than a human hair) and a length that can reach several micrometers. They are the structurally simplest yet most extreme in performance among all carbon nanotubes, reaching the material limits in electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, strength, and flexibility.

Q: What is the difference between MWCNT and SWCNT?

A: MWCNT (multi-walled carbon nanotube) consists of multiple concentric graphene layers, offering good conductivity at a lower cost. SWCNT (single-walled carbon nanotube) consists of a single graphene layer with superior electrical and optical properties, but is more expensive and harder to disperse. MWCNTs are more commonly used in industrial applications.

Q: Are carbon nanotubes safe to handle?

A: Carbon nanotubes should be handled with proper industrial hygiene practices. We recommend using gloves, masks and working in a well-ventilated area or fume hood. We provide a detailed MSDS with each shipment and can advise on safe handling procedures upon request.

Products & Specifications

Q: What SWCNT products and forms do you offer?

A: We offer a comprehensive range of SWCNT products to suit different processing needs. This includes high-purity and low-purity SWCNT powders (such as Model TXHP), carboxylated and hydroxylated functionalized powders, as well as ready-to-use products like NMP oil-based conductive slurry, water-based conductive slurry, and 10% SWCNT conductive coating additives.

Q: What are the typical specifications of your high-purity SWCNT powder?

A: Our high-purity SWCNT powder (e.g., Model TXHP) features excellent consistency. The typical SWCNT content is ≥ 99 wt% (TGA), with an outer diameter of 1.6 ± 0.5 nm and a length of > 100 μm. It boasts a high specific surface area (600-1200 m²/g) and an exceptional G/D ratio of > 50 (Raman), ensuring high crystallinity and outstanding electrical performance.

Q: Can you customize SWCNT properties or provide functionalized versions?

A: Yes. We provide both carboxylated (-COOH) and hydroxylated (-OH) SWCNT powders to improve dispersion in different matrices. Furthermore, based on your specific application (such as battery systems, conductive coatings, or composites), we can customize the solid content, solvent type, and viscosity of our conductive slurries to perfectly match your production process.

Q: Do you provide TDS and MSDS for your products?

A: Yes. A TDS (Technical Data Sheet) and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) are available for every product. You can request them through our contact form or directly from our sales team.

Applications & Usage

Q: What are the core functions of SWCNTs in lithium battery products?

A: In lithium batteries, SWCNT acts as a triple player — a conductive scaffold, a flexible buffer, and a thermal pathway. In the cathode, it forms a conductive network at ultra-low loading to lift rate capability and energy density; in silicon anodes, it cushions volume expansion to hold on to cycle life; and at the cell level, it cuts internal resistance and helps dissipate heat.

Q: What are the core functions of SWCNTs in solid-state battery products?

A: In solid-state batteries, SWCNT's core role is to address the solid-state-specific difficulty of rigid solid–solid interfaces and volume change — using its flexible, conductive, one-dimensional nature to act at once as interface conduction and buffering, an electronic pathway in composite electrolytes, dendrite suppression, and mechanical reinforcement. It keeps the conductive-agent role from liquid cells while taking on the key new role of an interface stabilizer.

Q: What are the core functions of SWCNTs in polymer products?

A: In polymer products, the core role of SWCNT is to endow an otherwise insulating polymer, at ultra-low loading, with conductivity/anti-static behavior, EMI shielding, mechanical reinforcement, thermal conductivity, and conductive-coating capability — all without altering the polymer's color.

Q: What is the best method to disperse SWCNT powder in my application?

A: Due to their high aspect ratio and strong van der Waals forces, SWCNTs tend to agglomerate. We recommend using high-shear mixing, ultrasonic dispersion, or three-roll milling. Using suitable surfactants or dispersants (such as NMP or specific polymers) is crucial to achieve a stable and uniform dispersion. For customers facing dispersion challenges, we also offer pre-dispersed NMP-based or water-based conductive slurries to simplify your production process.

Ordering & Shipping

Q: What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

A: Our standard MOQ is 1 kg for sample evaluation. For bulk orders, we recommend starting from 20 kg to enjoy better pricing and stable batch consistency.

Q: Can you provide free samples for testing?

A: Our standard MOQ is 1 kg for sample evaluation. For bulk Yes, we can provide small free samples (typically 10 – 50 g) for initial evaluation. The courier cost is normally covered by the buyer, and it can be deducted from the first bulk order.

Q: What is the lead time for samples and bulk orders?

A: Our standard MOQ is 1 kg for sample evaluation. For bulk Samples can be shipped within 3 – 5 working days. For bulk orders, the lead time is usually 10 – 20 working days depending on quantity and customization requirements.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: Our standard MOQ is 1 kg for sample evaluation. For bulk We accept T/T (bank transfer), L/C at sight and other methods negotiable for long-term partners. Details can be confirmed with our sales team before placing the order.

Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: Our standard MOQ is 1 kg for sample evaluation. For bulk Yes. We ship worldwide by express (DHL, FedEx, UPS), air freight and sea freight depending on order size and destination. Shipping terms such as EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP are all available.

Technical Support

Q: Do you provide specialized technical support for SWCNT applications?

A: Yes. Due to their extremely high aspect ratio and strong van der Waals forces, SWCNTs are more challenging to handle than conventional materials. Our technical team provides dedicated support, including material selection, dispersion strategies, and processing optimization specifically for SWCNT-based systems (such as high-energy batteries, conductive composites, and transparent films).

Q: Do you offer custom formulation development specifically for SWCNTs?

A: Yes. We offer custom formulation services tailored to your specific application and performance targets. This includes developing customized SWCNT conductive slurries with specific solid content, viscosity, and solvent systems (aqueous or NMP-based) to perfectly match your existing coating, mixing, or battery manufacturing processes.

Q: What kind of technical support do you provide for SWCNT applications?

A: Our engineering team provides end-to-end technical support. This includes recommending the most suitable SWCNT grade (powder, functionalized, or pre-dispersed slurry) for your specific system. We also assist with optimizing conductive additive dosage, troubleshooting dispersion issues, and providing guidance on mixing equipment and processing parameters to ensure you achieve the best electrical and mechanical performance.
