General

What is a carbon nanotube?

A carbon nanotube (CNT) is a cylindrical nanostructure made of rolled graphene sheets. Due to its unique one-dimensional structure, CNTs exhibit extremely high electrical and thermal conductivity, outstanding mechanical strength and very low density, making them ideal for advanced energy, electronics and composite applications.

What is the difference between MWCNT and SWCNT?

MWCNT (multi-walled carbon nanotube) consists of multiple concentric graphene layers, offering good conductivity at a lower cost. SWCNT (single-walled carbon nanotube) consists of a single graphene layer with superior electrical and optical properties, but is more expensive and harder to disperse. MWCNTs are more commonly used in industrial applications.

Are carbon nanotubes safe to handle?

Carbon nanotubes should be handled with proper industrial hygiene practices. We recommend using gloves, masks and working in a well-ventilated area or fume hood. We provide a detailed MSDS with each shipment and can advise on safe handling procedures upon request.

Products & Specifications

What CNT products do you offer?

We offer a full range of carbon nanotube products, including CNT powder, CNT dispersion and slurry, conductive paste, conductive ink, CNT film and CNT fiber. Each product line is available in multiple grades to suit different applications and processing methods.

What is the typical purity of your CNT powder?

Our standard MWCNT powder has a purity of ≥ 99 wt%, with ash content ≤ 1.0 wt%. For specific applications, we can provide higher purity grades or customized specifications upon request.

Can you customize CNT diameter, length and surface functionalization?

Yes. We support customized CNT specifications, including diameter, length, purity, surface functionalization (such as -COOH, -OH, -NH2) and packaging. Please contact our technical team with your detailed requirements.

Do you provide TDS and MSDS for your products?

Yes. A TDS (Technical Data Sheet) and MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) are available for every product. You can request them through our contact form or directly from our sales team.

Applications & Usage

How should CNT powder be dispersed?

We recommend using high-shear mixing, ultrasonic dispersion or three-roll milling, combined with suitable surfactants or dispersants. The optimal method depends on your formulation and final application. Our technical team can provide dispersion guidance based on your specific process.

What is the recommended dosage of CNT in different applications?

Typical dosages vary by application: 0.5 – 3 wt% for lithium-ion battery conductive additives, 1 – 5 wt% for conductive plastics, 0.5 – 2 wt% for antistatic coatings. Optimal dosage should be determined through trial testing based on your specific formulation.

Which industries use carbon nanotubes?

Carbon nanotubes are widely used in lithium-ion batteries, conductive plastics and rubber, antistatic and conductive coatings, electromagnetic shielding, composite reinforcement, thermal management, flexible electronics and smart textiles.

Can CNT replace carbon black as a conductive additive?

Yes, in many cases CNTs can partially or fully replace carbon black at a much lower dosage due to their high aspect ratio and superior conductivity. This often results in improved performance and reduced total additive cost.

Ordering & Shipping

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?

Our standard MOQ is 1 kg for sample evaluation. For bulk orders, we recommend starting from 20 kg to enjoy better pricing and stable batch consistency.

Can you provide free samples for testing?

Yes, we can provide small free samples (typically 10 – 50 g) for initial evaluation. The courier cost is normally covered by the buyer, and it can be deducted from the first bulk order.

What is the lead time for samples and bulk orders?

Samples can be shipped within 3 – 5 working days. For bulk orders, the lead time is usually 10 – 20 working days depending on quantity and customization requirements.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept T/T (bank transfer), L/C at sight and other methods negotiable for long-term partners. Details can be confirmed with our sales team before placing the order.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We ship worldwide by express (DHL, FedEx, UPS), air freight and sea freight depending on order size and destination. Shipping terms such as EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP are all available.

Technical Support

Do you provide technical support for CNT applications?

Yes. Our technical team can help with product selection, dispersion guidance, formulation advice and processing optimization. Please describe your application and current challenges, and we will respond with practical suggestions.

Can you help with CNT dispersion in our existing process?

Yes. We can review your current dispersion process and recommend suitable CNT grades, dispersants and equipment settings to improve dispersion quality and stability. In some cases we can also provide ready-to-use CNT dispersions or slurries.

Do you offer custom formulation development?

Yes. For qualified projects, we can collaborate on custom formulation development, including CNT masterbatch, conductive paste and functional coatings. Please contact us with your project details for further discussion.
